The
ORIGINAL Viola Da Gamba !!!
Introduced
in the 16th century in Italy. Styled after that most popular of the crustacian
family and culinary delight: the giant shrimp.
The
giant shrimp's alternate name, the gamba, originates from the italian
and means knee or joint, referring to the way it's shell bends. On the
other hand gamba also means leg and the word ham (and the
french jambe/jambon) derives directly from it.
The
VIola da Gamba is played holding it between the knees / legs, like it's
more popular cousin, the cello from the violin family.

Onion's Gamba is equped with a pick-up for amplification.
