Slide 'n' Surf

The Hawaiian Steel guitar is said to have its origin in Hindustani music from the North of India. Just as well it could originate from the Karnatic South Indian music. In both musical styles stringed instruments, named Veenas, are played with a slide.

Green Onion would like to remind the interested reader to have a look at the item about the Dragon Fly Veena™ in this site. Explore the crossovers between Hawaii, surf music and tropical South India.

Green Onion's Yakayakai Lau™ is a Pacific original. Its design is based upon Hawaii's national beach sport. It is equipped with a humbucking pickup. To change to a different tuning instantly (much like a pedal system) a Hipshot™ string tension device is used as the six-string tailpiece.
